ErgoFlex® Universal Curettes are versatile instruments designed for efficient scaling across all tooth surfaces. Unlike area-specific curettes, universal curettes feature two parallel cutting edges and a 90° blade angle, allowing use on both anterior and posterior teeth without frequent instrument changes.

⭐ Clinical Selection Guide: Universal Curette Patterns

Universal curettes are commonly selected for general prophylaxis and moderate calculus removal. Choose the pattern that best matches access requirements and tactile preference:

  • Columbia 13/14: A broad, versatile pattern frequently used as an all-purpose instrument for scaling multiple tooth surfaces.
  • Barnhart 5/6: Features a thinner blade profile and extended shank design to improve access to posterior areas.
  • Barnhart 1/2: Designed for controlled scaling in tighter tissue areas and finer finishing.

All ErgoFlex® Universal Curettes are equipped with the ErgoFlex® Adaptive Handle, designed to support balanced grip, refined tactile feedback, and reduced hand fatigue during extended hygiene procedures.
