SPIDENT Block Out Resin™ is a light-cured resin designed for creating reservoir space during custom whitening tray fabrication. It is applied directly to the plaster model before thermoforming the tray material.

According to SPIDENT's technical guide, Block Out Resin should be applied approximately 0.5 mm thick on the labial surface while remaining about 1.5 mm away from the gingival margin. The material should not extend over the incisal edge or occlusal surface.

After light curing for 20–40 seconds, the softened tray material can be adapted over the model. Once cooled and trimmed, the resulting tray provides reserved space for whitening material.

SPIDENT Whitening Tray Workflow:
1. Prepare a plaster model of the patient.
2. Apply Block Out Resin™ to the labial surfaces to create reservoir space.
3. Light cure for 20–40 seconds.
4. Adapt the softened tray material over the model and allow it to cool.
5. Trim the tray to avoid contact with gingival tissue.

For gingival protection during in-office whitening procedures, use FineDam™ light-cured resin barrier.
